The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has limited the validity of the operating certificate of Russian charter carrier AZUR air until June 8, 2026. Authorities stated that the certificate could be revoked if the identified deficiencies are not resolved by that date.
The decision follows an unscheduled inspection conducted between February 19 and March 5 by the Federal Service for Transport Supervision (Rostransnadzor). The inspection was reportedly launched due to flight delays, cancellations, technical issues, and passenger rights complaints.
During a meeting between Dmitry Yadrov and Yevgeny Korolev, measures to address the violations were discussed. Russian authorities requested a detailed corrective action plan, while AZUR air stated that the plan would be submitted to the relevant institutions.
The airline’s current flight schedule continues for now, but if the issues are not resolved by June 8, the operating certificate could be fully revoked.
AZUR air holds a significant share in Russia’s outbound leisure charter market. Since the airline operates a large number of flights to Antalya, particularly during the summer season, any further restrictions or a potential certificate revocation could affect tourist charter capacity to Turkey.
